BeMen offers a path of education, empowerment, and mentorship by promoting fellowship amongst men. A place for men to connect and create a support system. We need to raise $525 for this event. To lend your support, go to http://www.bemen.org/#!donate 11.19.11Saturday, Nov 19th was the Daddy Bruce Event again at Epworth United Methodist Church www.feedafamily.org . The Epworth Foundation fed some 8,000 needy families Thanksgiving dinner. This year, The Brotherhood www.bemen.org went dumpster diving and assisted by flattening all the empty food boxes. You don't want to miss this one as we come together to be inspired, be real, and be uncomfortable to learn about Romance. Love Is In The Air! (Men & Women Welcome)1.15.11 BeMen held a successful event for the kids of Mount St. Vincent Home www.msvhome.org. The Brotherhood gave 32 kids a 2-hour bowling party at Elitch Lanes. We raised $700, spent $525, hosted 32 kids (ages 5 to 15), 8 MSV staff members, and 18 volunteers (10 Brothers & 8 Supportive Sisters). The Brotherhood promotes healthy manhood. In 3 words we are...."Men Encouraging Men" To have courage is to have heart; to encourage is to give heart! Are we "human beings or human doings"? Be Men is a "Call To Action" to reach men working through wellness issues. Be it emotional, financial, mental, physical, or spiritual. Once reached, to shift their paradigm from negative to positive & empower them to change their lives and impact the lives of those close to them. Be Men is an acronym "The Brotherhood of Extraordinary Men"....BROTHERHOOD means...The quality or state of being brothers The whole body of persons engaged in a business, cause, or professionEXTRAORDINARY means...Exceptional to a very marked extent Going beyond what is usual, regular, or customary Employed for or sent on a special function or service

The Way Of The Warrior

BE COMPASSIONATEThrough intense training the warrior becomes quick and strong. He is not as other men. He develops a passion that must be utilized. He helps his fellow man at every opportunity. If an opportunity does not arise, he goes out of his way to find one.BE COURAGEOUSRise up above the masses of people who are afraid to act. Hiding like a turtle in a shell is not living at all. A warrior must have heroic courage. It is absolutely risky. It is dangerous. It is living life completely, fully, wonderfully. Heroic courage is not blind, it is intelligent and strong.BE COURTEOUSWarriors have no reason to be cruel. They do not need to prove their strength. A warrior is courteous even to his enemies. Without this outward show of respect, we are nothing more than animals. A warrior is not only respected for his strength in battle, but also by his dealing with other men. The true strength of a warrior becomes apparent during difficult times.BE HONESTBe acutely honest throughout your dealings with all people. Believe in justice, not from other people, but from yourself. To the true warrior, there are no shades of gray in the question of honesty and justice.BE HONORABLE A true warrior has only one judge of honor, and that is himself. Decisions you make and how they are carried out are a reflection of where you truly are. You cannot hide from yourself.BE LOYALHaving done something or said something is to become the owner of that thing. He is responsible for it, and all the consequences that follow. A warrior is immensely loyal to those in his care. To those he is responsible for, he remains fiercely true.BE SINCEREWhen a warrior has said he will perform an action, it is as good as done. Nothing will stop him from completing what he said he will do. He does not have to give his word. He does not have to promise. Speaking and doing are the same action.

While supporting men may seem counter-intuitive, The Brotherhood offers these thoughts....We live in a cause-effect world. Typically, there is a cause which creates an effect. Oftentimes, there can be a "negative symptom" surrounding the effect. Such as battered women, cancer deaths, homeless youth, world hunger and the list goes on and on. We as humans dislike negativity. By nature, we are compassionate and enjoy serving the "helpless". However, when we focus and treat "symptoms" and not "root causes" we support an endless cycle of Effect = Symptom = Treatment.

The Power Of One

By supporting The Brotherhood, you empower men to become strong creating a positive ripple throughout our society impacting every man, woman, and child. For every 1 man who is healthier internally, there is at least 1 woman who is physically safer!
