In this article, Michael Kimmel (Director of the "Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities") leads a guided conversation for students. Michael is a leading scholar on masculinity and developed the nation's first masters degree program in Masculinities Studies. The questions brought to these students, the answers received, and the subsequent journey exploring masculinity is why BeMen exists. The simple cliche "Be A Man" is no longer simple. The mantra of "Man Up" may not be the message you wish to send based on archaic labels and models of what it meant to be a man. The question, "Where are all the real men?" begs to be unpacked to ascertain just what do we mean when we say "real men"....?
